Engineer Ahmed Rizk
Executive Director


ahmed Rizk

Ahmed Rizk is the present managing director of the Ibn Khaldun Center, and a member of its Board of Trustees. He is a civil engineer, owns a civil contracting company and is an active figure in Egyptian politics. He was a former member of the board of the (liberal) Wafd Party's regional branch in the Ismailieh Governorate as well as a member of the board of the regional branch of the Engineers Syndicate there. In 2008, he was one of the founders of  Al Gabha Party and has for long been an active participant in numerous conferences, seminars and workshops concerned with pushing for political reforms and the promotion of democracy in Egypt.

Moheb ZakiMoheb Zaki

Moheb Zaki is an electrical engineer and former businessman. He was a former managing director of the Ibn Khaldun Center and is currently the Center’s Senior Advisor. He taught political sociology, comparative political systems and politics of the Middle East at the American University in Cairo (1990--2006). He is the author of two books (in English): Civil Society and Democratization in Egypt, and The Egyptian Business Elites: Their Visions and Investment Behaviour. He is also the author of several studies on "The Status of Democracy in Egypt"; "The Copts of Egypt"; and "Political Parties in the Arab World" which will form a chapter in a soon to be published book (funded by MEPI) and edited by the Global Political Trends Center of Kultur University (Istabul). Mr. Zaki is the author of the Annual Report published by the Ibn Khaldun Center on Civil Society and Democratization in the Arab World, and the consultant of the Center's monthly English Newsletter.

Assistant professor of sociology at Ain Shams University. Ibrahim

Ibrahim Hasan

 

Financial manager for several projects carried out by ICDS, including Monitoring Presidential and Parliamentary Elections 2005. Participated in  Preparation of all activities carried out by the ICDS. Also plays a major role in the liberation of books published by the center, including (East Wind) as well as the annual report of Civil Society and Democratization in the Arab world as well as the Journal of Civil Society.

Ali El Feel

Ali El-Feel

Public Relations Officer

Worked as a Public Relations and Information Center. Contributed in the liberation of some issues including the report of the Center and local election monitoring / April 2008, the book Barack Obama: the American revolution to the global revolution.

Saad

Saad Eddin Ibrahim
Legal Affairs


Legal affairs officer of ICDS. Member of the defense of Dr. Saad Eddin Ibrahim. Contributed in coordination in the projects carried out by the Center. He also participated in monitoring the local council elections in April 2008 and was coordinator in Campaign for National Reconciliation by the ICDS during 2009.

TahaTaha Ali

Researcher at the Center. Study master at Faculty of Economics and Political Science. Participates in all activities of the Center, including The Annual Report of Civil Society and Democratization in The Arab world, as well as The ICDSs' newsletter  "Civil Society". Joined ICDS in May 2008. Has been chosen for the fellowship under the program "a new generation of advocates for human rights", organized by Freedom House (Washington, April 2009). He focuses on the cultural aspects of phenomena he studies.

Abdel Meseeh
Mohsen A. Maseeh

Mohsen holds a Bachelor degree in Social Service. He works with Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies as a researcher. One of the most important reports he contributed discusses "minorities in the Arab world." He also writes articles for the monthly Civil Society Newsletter.

FatmaFatma Saber

She started working at ICDS since it reopened in June 2003. She was previously worked at Ibn Khaldun Branch in Maadi for preparation of the new notes and leaves the issue of the Ibn Khaldoun Center in the years trials of Dr. Saad Eddin Ibrahim, and even an acquittal. She is currently responsible for the follow-up correspondence, Dr. Saad and coordination with other organizations within and outside Egypt for holding conferences and various events

Mohamed Khairy

Legal Accountant

 

Accountant Qanonneb do work place through  firstly joint ICDS as a delegated the Office of the professor / Hisham A'sar Accounting and Auditing in July 2006 to December 2008. Then, processing  of lists and financial reports for donors and tax through a working group of financial management.

Samar Tarek

* Works as a researcher status after graduation from the Faculty of Education, Department of Sociology batch 2008
* Within a research team which prepared the annual report on the state of freedom and democracy in the 2008 Arab countries

* The Center was represented in many seminars and conferences related to the field of women

Rasha Mohamed


Secretary Director of the Center. She started working with the Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies in 2007 as secretary to General Director, is responsible for organizing works of Director of the Center and assists in administrative matters.

RaniaRania Mohamed

Graduated at the Faculty of Arts Department of Sociology at the University of Ain Shams. Joined ICDS staff since the beginning of 2009, assists in the works of the Information Center. Helps in monitoring and reporting on news of civil society in the local media and international organizations.
